Just what is ‘Staging”? Unless you are a Broadway theater production, don’t get upset at the suggestion. It is just to make your house/condo/coop more attractive to the buyer. (Whom you do not know yet)

Therefore you really would not know what that buyer wants.


what you need to do is remove your personal items ( awards, trophies, collections) and put them away.

but first, look at the outside ….where the buyer looks/sees first. Outdoor living is high on a list of ‘ amenities’. Decks, patio, fire pits, peaceful gardens and a cozy seating area, even a little fountain.

Highlight lifestyle appeal – i.e., a cozy reading area: a handy computer work space,

a game room area – a library.

An easy way to change a kitchen is to paint the cabinets if they are not new and ‘ trendy’, put new knobs and chrome pull bars, and have a bowl of  bright fresh fruit on a counter.

We always tell sellers to stay ‘  neutral’ but not boring. Maybe get some new bright  pillows -visit the nearby decorating shops – Pottery Barn, or Bed bath and Beyond or Pier One –  while there get some fluffy white towels for the bath.
