Florida, in January

Here we are in St. Petersburg, Florida on an Elder Hostel trip..(now called Road Scholar) staying at Hotel Indigo -inthe business district – and near Beach Drive. 40 people, from all over…mainly cold states
tho, Good bus tour of Kenwood ( bungalow historic district) and lunch at the historic Hotel Vinoy. Dali museum and Chihuly collection on the schedule during the week. History of St. Pete is interesting…beautiful places…palm trees, live oaks, spanish moss all the southern charms.
Snow and hail at home…nice to be here.
Interesting to see the verdant landscape in some areas…like Kenwood, and the harsh crab grass lawns where the cinder blocks (Levit town styled) HOUSES SIT…SHADE LESS AND BARE. SAME CLIMATE, BUT NO IDEA OF ENHANCING PROPERTIES. (THIs I pad key board is tufff, and not worth trying to back up for all these print mistakes.
I can see why people move here from New Jersey…and this town has much going for it.
