Your Garden! and other ramblings!

Get ready for some work and then the benefits!

Look at the garden catalogs and maybe think of a color that you would like to concentrate this year.

Now if you choose ‘blue’ that’s a challenge but could be lovely – with some white accents.

Is there lighting in your garden? or Water? or some garden art work?

And if you are thinking of selling your house – get a landscaper and make sure the  bushes are well trimmed not impeding the exposure from the street  (buyers make up  t heir mind within 8, Eight, seconds of seeing the property. )-

Then they get inside – that’s another story

We provide a stager for  you, and are able to enhance all the positives –

The exterior is the beginning – and then the movers come, and  you are on your way to a new way of living.

Your d… Continue Reading Your Garden! and other ramblings!

Expert Network!

I do like to be appreciated! And I just received a designation from a group I did not know about – called, Expert Network, ( www.expertnetwork.co) for …”membership is extended solely to the most qualified professionals and business owners form each state who demonstrate superior influence, leadership, reputation and knowledge”.

Does that get me more business? Don’t know, but it should confirm to buyers and sellers that I get the job done, with their best interests my concern.

Spring will be here soon -I have snow drops blooming!1

Now is the time to be critical about the exterior of your house. Dull Shrubs?  boring trees?’bent over trees? yellow grass – or none? The garden catalogs are arriving  in the mail – look a them and pick out a few new plants to put in place as soon as the ground warms up. Landscaped properties yield a better return. Why? because it tells people that you are interested  in the  property and have maintained it. ( a very subliminal message) Like cleaning off the boiler and furnace of basement dust).

You can rent temporary storage units – one business called zippyshell.com

or your neighbors’ basement too –

but the more space in a house that can be ‘ seen’ is a plus – unless the buyers are coming from micro-units, ( 300 sq feet?) that’s another story;

The real estate market in Mo… Continue Reading Spring will be here soon -I have snow drops blooming!1

Look at your landscaping now!

This is when you plan your spring activity for your surrounds! Do the plantings ‘ frame’ your property?

or are you standing in the middle of a plain field?

If you are on a busy street – create a barrier for sound and dust by planting some bushes or grasses that will enhance your approach – you might not be plannnig to sell next year – but some day some one  will be buying your house – this way you can enjoy the attractive approach

And, if you live on a corner – create an interesting angle for traffic but do some plantings. Look at Garden catalogs and visit famous gardens – get an idea or 2 – and make you home look inviting..

August is one of my favorite months – you can park almost anyplace in town and the streets are easy to drive along.

Now is when you should evaluate your plantings – how are they surviving the heat? Some do better than others and you can make appropriate plans. Look around – and read all the garden catalogs that come in the mail – (you could hire a landscaper too!)

The landscape adds to the overall value of your home. Allows for shade in some spots and in the winter re directs the wind away from your house.

Plant a tree in honor of a loved one – or to commemorate an event – you will always enjoy that = even when you drive by years from now. ( we planted a tree on Stephen Street and drive by and appreciate it once in a while) and we have 2 elms in front of our house that are marvelo… Continue Reading Summertime!
